Handling of containers with special container cranes often results in
unvoluntary movements of the load, which in turn have negative effect on
productivity because of difficult positioning of the container.
This report covers the research done to reveal and control the factors that
cause these movements in trolley travel direction in a container crane with
cable pulled trolley.Several tests have been done to verify theoretical
results.
Special attention has been paid to the pulling cable forces in relation to
cable sag and the influence of a cable tensioning device.
