In this report the simulation of a container terminal is disussed. A brief
introduction into the concept of containerisation is given, after which the
container handling systems which are presently widely used are studied in more
detail. After presenting a general systems model for the goods flows within
a container terminal, a simulation model and computer program, written in
Fortran-77, are described.
