F.A.W. Meijneken Analyse en modelbouw van een terminal voor minerale massagoederen.

In order to develop a better system, the loading of road- and rail-vehicles with kaoline and vermiculite at the VH-terminal has been analysed. Firstly a supporting model has been created, with which the capacity of gantry-cranes can be determined, depending on a few principal variables. The use of crane-capacity is an important factor concerning the interaction of handling processes.

Criteria for the extension of facilities for closed storage as well as the location of new facilities are determined. It turnes out that the assignation of goods to the different facilities is strongly determined by the proposed loading-system.
