After a merger between two general cargo terminals and EGT a study has been
made of the feasibility of a new transshipment system of forest products.
This rapport consists of two parts:
- The first part shows three possible transshipment systems. A model has been
made of the most relevant solution. To include the dynamic aspects of the
system, a simulation has been made. With this simulation the handling
materials are determined.
- The second part shows a number of opportunities to make the
unloading of a ship more safe and efficiënt. The most relevant
solution seems to be a postioning place on the quay and special automatic
hooks on the crane. Some designs of these tools are made.
