In this raport a survey concerning elevator traffic analysis is presented. To
analyse the lift capacity the following methods are described: analytical
methods, graphical methods and simulation. Simulation gives the opportunity to
calculate the lift capacity with high accuracy, independant of the kind of
the traffic pattern.
To design an elevator system the "design tool" needs a
simulation facility to avoid misunderstanding of the concept waiting time.
