Over de kop laden/lossen van binnenvaart containerschepen.
Literature survey,
Report 93.3.TT.3057, Transport Engineering.
In this study different ways to bad and unload a barge, situated with its
bow towards the quay, are examined. The loading and unloading is done by
small cranes like straddle carriers and reach stackers. The advantages of
this kind of equipment are that they are low in price and they can be used
in a multifunctional way. The aim of these new methods is to transport more
containers over inland waterways and so relieving the other ways of
transportation.
The methods which are examined in this study, are compared by different
requirements and regulations. From this examination it can be concluded
that the method which uses a slideframe and a reach stacker on the quay is
the best one.
