This report contains a model of a towercrane, using the finite elements package
"Ansys".
The loads to be placed on the model are computed for the case of the crane in
operation with wind.
After the computed loads have been placed on the model, the following are
discussed: the extent of bending, bending moments, tensions, transverse
forces, and the foundation forces of the crane. All for both the following
cases:
the crane is free-standing
the crane is anchored onto a building.
The report ends with some recommendations and conclusions.
