D. van Vliet Bulk Container handling: ontwerp programmatuur 91-96
Literature survey, Report 97.3.TT.4833, Transport Engineering and Logistics.

This report lists a great number of design support programs. These programs regard subjects of the design of systems and constructions for the handling of bulk solids and containers and are written by students of the section Transport Technology of the TU. Delft, faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Marine Technology. The object of this report is to survey the different programs and to assess the capabilities of the software packages used to solve specific design problems.

The software packages Matlab, Ansys, Krasta and Simulink are reviewed and compared to each other and to the Pascal language. Pascal and Matlab have been proven to be suitable to solve most technical problems and are thus widely used. For a small domain of mostly static stress and strain analysis, Ansys and Krasta prove more effective. The usefulness of Simulink and Delphi have yet to be determined.
